The WCPSS Board met on November 17, and approved these three new grant opportunities for schools:

NC Technology in Education Society (NCTIES)

Batters Up USA®

For those who are looking for grants to support professional development, take a look at the National Education Association (NEA) Foundation, which is offering Learning and Leadership grants, up to $2,000 for individuals and $5,000 for groups. The deadlines are coming up on February 1 and June 1 in 2016. More information can be found at http://www.neafoundation.org/pages/grants-to-educators/

STEM Grants
For those who are looking for STEM grants, here are two great opportunities with deadlines coming up soon:

Biogen Idec is offering grants of up to $2,000 for teachers and $5,000 for schools to support STEM education.  More information can be found at https://www.biogen.com/en_us/responsibility/ignite-the-power-of-STEM-NC.html. Proposals are being accepted through November 10, 2015

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund PRISM grant is now open and provides up to $3,000 for math and science education. Application information is available at http://www.bwfund.org/grant-programs/science-education/promoting-innovation-science-and-mathematics.  The deadline is December 7, 2015.
