Should you decide to apply for a grant, please let the Office of Grants know by submitting an Intent to Apply form, available at any of the three locations mentioned above.  Some folks have been having difficulty getting the form to save their data, so we have added instructions in the upper left hand corner.  If you follow the instructions there, all should work well.

Introduction to Grant Alerts

This blog is designed to help people within the Wake County Public School System learn about grants--how to find them, write them, develop them, manage them, and report on them.  It is also written to provide information about the WCPSS grants process, so that folks within the system will understand and be able to follow Wake County Board of Education policy about grants.  We will use the Grant Alerts blog primarily to provide Grant Alerts--updates on the latest opportunities and upcoming deadlines.

A bit of background information that might be helpful:

The primary source of information about grants in WCPSS is the Office of Grants intranet site: http://www2.wcpss.net/departments/grants/. This site is home to most everything you need to know about grants, from a listing of Board approved grant opportunities (Grant Alerts) to policies, procedures, and forms. Currently the intranet is only available while you are connected to a WCPSS network, which generally means you need to be on a school campus or at a WCPSS facility to connect to it.

We realize that folks may need or want information about grants while away from WCPSS facilities.  There are two options available to access grants information from offsite:

 1) The Office of Grants hosts a course on Blackboard, and the course houses information that mirrors the information found on the intranet site. To access Blackboard while offsite, go to the WCPSS internet site, and at the bottom of the page, under “Staff Links”, click on “Blackboard.”  Sign in, and then enter the Office of Grants course.

2) Office of Grants Google site: We created a Google site that can be accessed from anywhere with no sign in required.  This site includes a Grants Forecast Calendar, Grant Alerts, lists of grant opportunities by topic, information about the grants process, and forms. The link to the site is https://sites.google.com/a/wcpss.net/wcpss-grants-office/calendar . We are still developing this site, so please send me any ideas on how we could make it meet your needs more fully.
