Newly Posted Grant Opportunities
There are three recently opened grant opportunities that we’d like to highlight for your review:

Biogen Idec is offering grants of up to $2,000 for teachers and $5,000 for schools to support STEM education.  More information can be found at https://www.biogen.com/en_us/responsibility/ignite-the-power-of-STEM-NC.html. Proposals are being accepted through November 10, 2015. 

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund PRISM grant is now open and provides up to $3,000 for math and science education. Application information is available at http://www.bwfund.org/grant-programs/science-education/promoting-innovation-science-and-mathematics.  The deadline is December 7, 2015.

The Voya Unsung Heroes Award honors 100 teachers each year with $2,000 grants for innovative classroom projects. The application form is now available at https://unsungheroes.scholarshipamerica.org/.  The deadline for applying is April 30, 2016.

Deadlines Looming:

Lowe’s Home Improvement Toolbox for Education grant provides up to $5,000 and the deadline is October 16.
Raleigh Moms Care teacher grant provides $500 in appreciation for teachers and to support classroom learning. The deadline is October 20.

REMINDER: "Think It Up" is a national initiative that is inviting public school students in grades 7-12 to develop student-powered and teacher-led learning projects, in partnership with Donors Choose. Any projects submitted to Think It Up should follow the usual WCPSS grants process and be reported by submitting an Intent to Apply form.
