Grant Alerts - August 19, 2015

The WCPSS Board of Education met this week and approved the following grant opportunities:

·         Whole Kids Foundation School Garden Grant, Up to $2,000, grant cycle opens September 1, 2015, closes October 31, 2015

·         Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America, funding level varies depending on grant, check their website for deadlines.

·         National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), funding level varies depending on the grant program, next deadline is November 6, 2015

·         Fender Music Foundation, funding level varies, deadline is rolling

·         Kroger Foundation, funds various school needs, deadline is rolling

·         Harris Teeter Community Giving, funds various school needs, deadline is rolling

Here are a couple of grant opportunities we would like to highlight:

·         The Wake Electric Classroom Technology Grant provides up to $3,000 and closes on September 15.

·         The Wake Electric Cooperative Bright Ideas Grant provides up to $3,000, and its deadline is September 18.

Grant Alerts - August 5, 2015

The Board of Education approved a number of new grant opportunities for schools when they met on August 4. 

Here is a sampling of opportunities you may want to consider:

Project Learning Tree,  Up to $1,000, Deadline: September 30, 2015

P. Buckley Moss Foundation, Up to $1,000, Deadline: September 30, 2015

Toshiba Foundation for grades K-5, Up to $1,000, Deadline: October 1, 2015

NC Science Teachers Association (NCSTA), Deadline: September 15, 2015

Toshiba Foundation for grades 6-12, Deadline: Rolling deadline for grants less than $5,000, February 1 for grants over $5,000

Please note:  Please use the new and improved Intent to Apply form anytime you plan to apply for a grant. You can access the form from anywhere that you have an internet connection.  We have included hot links in all the usual places: on our intranet site, this Blackboard course, and on the Grants Forecast Calendar.  A few tips: The form should be filled out by the contact person for the grant. Be prepared to complete the form in one sitting, as partially completed forms cannot be saved. When you click on a link to the form, you will be asked to log in to your WCPSS Google account (if you are not already logged in to your WCPSS account).
